    Alain Whyte joined Morrissey's band in 1991 and has been his main songwriter ever since, penning over 80 songs to date, including the hits "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful", "Tomorrow", "Irish Blood, English Heart" and "First Of The Gang To Die". Whyte also played lead guitar live with Morrissey from 1991 to 2004. Whyte co-wrote and performed on Your Arsenal (1992), Vauxhall and I (1994), Southpaw Grammar (1995), Maladjusted (1997), You Are the Quarry (2004), and Ringleader of the Tormentors (2006). Alain has written for the new album Years Of Refusal (2009) but did not take part in the recording. Recently, Whyte has gone in a new direction producing and working with various projects, and writing songs for televison shows such as Gossip Girl, Chuck and Without A Trace. He has recently written songs with various pop artists including Rihanna, Kelis, Kid Cudi, Blake Lewis, Kid Sister & LeeLou. Also, keep an eye out for an ep from a side project he has been working on called Setting Fires coming in July 2010. Whyte produced and mixed an ep for Deerheart and also mixed Anya Marina's cover of "Whatever You Like". Over the years Whyte has also performed with numerous other bands including Johnny Panic, The Motivators, Born Bad, The Memphis Sinners, The Memphis Flash, Crash Action, The Rugcutters, and Red Lightning.
