"For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire."
The wicked glories in a mere desire, a desire that is villainy. He brags openly of his evil life. He boasts that he will accomplish his wicked designs. He glories that he has already accomplished those desires.
How sad that one should boast of that which is his shame? Bragging sinners are the most contemptible when their filthy desires become the theme of their boastings.
In Bunyan's classic work, when Mr. Hate-Good and Mr. Heady partner with one another, they thrive in trading the devil's wares.

This wickedness is enough to condemn the sinner at the bar of judgment. But yet worse, the impudence of the wicked is even more apparent, for he ...

"... blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth."
Like will to like. Pride is unmasked. This is insolence.
Covetousness is the desire of possessing that which we have not, and attaining unto great riches and worldly possessions. "No man can serve two masters" (Matthew 6:24). "The love of this world is enmity to God" (James 4:4). "No ... covetous man ... hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God" (Ephesians 5:5).
Those who neglect the Lord's commandments not only commit sin, but commend those who sin like themselves. They allow them in their affections. They flatter and extol them in their speeches. They join with them in their deeds.
The wicked is haughty enough to bless the men whom God hath cursed. "We call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up." (Malachi 3:15)
These pretenders would snatch from God's hand the balance and the rod, and rejudge His justice, and be the god of God.
The old proverb says it well, "He is most loved that hath most bags."
Pride compliments covetousness as wise, thrifty, and prudent.
There are many deceived (false) Christians who esteem a rich man and flatter him, even when they know his riches came by unrighteous means. The only sinners who are received as respectable are covetous men.

Have you ever read of church discipline against a covetous man?
Beloved, let us tremble, lest we be found to be partakers of this horrible sin, blessing "the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth"?
