Current mood:
nostalgic
I had the blessing to see her in concert last week and if I hadn't hyped up about the CD by then, this concert surely would have made it so. She performed at my old work joint HOB on Sunset. My girl Silvia and I had dinner there and lo and behold, Miss Scott was already on stage warming up. What a TREAT!!!! I sat there perplexed at how awesome she is, not to mention gorgeous. And I got crazy chills looking at her because I'll be dog gone if she and my girl Regina are not TWINZ! Same beautiful smile, skin, demeanor, mother earth composure. Amazing.
In concert, Sil and I were right up in front of the stage. She performed almost all the tracks on the new CD (darn near in order) and a handful of her old classics. She did two of my tagged fav's, a naaaaaaaaaaaasty slowed down version of 'Crown Royal' (which I wish I had thought to record a la Rerun on What's Happening) and 'Whenever You're Around' (which I do a dope accompaniment to *giggle*) and my new favorite 'Epiphany'... The concert was great, and I will indeed be forking up the change to see her again!
Now... Jills got a new vid for another of the cute I very much dig. It's nice, but not what *I* envisioned. And if you didn't know, I'm a lil wanna be video director (well... what do you call the concept person?! that's me)... Here's the vid:
I digs... BUT my concept would have included Jill as a ... hmm.... less than stalker. you know, kinda just following home dude around with his new *lady* for a while, then returning to her dimly lit home, looking through photo albums, videos, etc of her life w/him. Ah well... I'on know if i'ma be able to break into the bidness at 40, but that's my .02 cents (yea, i said .02 *smile*)
Shout out to my girl Silvee :-) Always have a good time kickin' it with you mami!

Nice review, made me feel like I was there too. I'll check her out in person on her next gig.
i went and got it. haven't listened yet but i'm looking foward to it. :-)
This is her best CD since her first release.
i can't wait to get it, myself. i've heard so many great things about the album.
