So much shit has been talked about me and the rest of AA, so here's it all coming out in the open. Let's cut the bullshit and have some truth.
Q: Is it true you lip sync on stage?
A: Fuck no, I don't know where this rumor came about. If I were going to lip sync I would pick far more perfect vocal tracks than the ones that come out of my mouth.
Q: I've heard that you and your girlfriend have an open relationship and that you sleep with fans. True or false?
A: False, I've had my fair share of sleeping with fans. I have been unfaithful with people for most of my life. Alas, I'm now committed and a one-woman man! (sorry ladies)
Q: Who is Courtney?
A: Courtney is my ex girlfriend and was my inspiration for many of the songs you all know and love. After the roller coaster ride of mental hell that was our relationship reached a new peak, it was time to call it quits.
Q: So are AA not a metalcore band anymore? More of a rock band?
A: We are still a heavy band... Breakdowns, screaming. But we definitely have added a new rock feel into the band too.
Q: Is it true that you stopped drinking before shows? If so has it affected your performance?
A: Yes, I now don't drink before shows, if in the rare occasion that I do, I have 1 or 2 and leave it at that. I drink less all-round now. I've dodged death too many times and I do stupid things I have no control of when I drink. For once in my life I have things worth holding on to, that I cannot lose. I'm no longer the "I don't care about anything" guy I was. I can still out-party everyone though! I just aren't doing it every single day now!
Q: I hear you're pretty badass, but really, how badass are you?
A: Very. More than you could ever know.
Q: Do you appreciate your fans support & all?
A: Lots of people seem to think I hate our fans and don't appreciate them at all. I really do. Our fans are awesome and I owe them everything I have. I just have a different way of showing. I've never been the people to sit and hang out with a group of people. I like my own space, I like being with just a couple of people that I know in my own little world. I have an antisocial disorder and I like to stay in my comfort zone. People never realize it and assume I'm an asshole.
Q: You have gained weight?
A: I thought this was obvious? I did, yes. I'm now on a strict diet and work out routine and am getting into the best shape of my life. Getting ripped! And I don't care if you guys bitch about it. I don't want the skinny scrawny body of a little boy.
Q: How do you deal with touring and not seeing loved ones often?
A: I don't know. It's horrible and sometimes I almost don't make it. Its not a rare fantasy in my head to have a 'normal' job and go home to my girlfriend and puppy every night, never having to leave for months on end. But I love my job, we find ways to make it work. She flys out to see me a lot. Also, it does mean that when I AM home, every last second is so much more perfect because we know I'll be gone again in a week or so.
Q: My friend told me AA put techno in the music after you came to the US. She said AA was heavier when AA was smaller. Truth?
A: We'd never even played a show before we moved to the US, we never wrote a song that isn't on Stand Up And Scream before then.
Q: Do you really have as many stds as you say you do?
A: No, that was a joke that got way out of hand. I have, and never have had an STD (surprising right?) and people never believe me. But nope. Clean as a whistle.
Q: I know there's a lot of people wondering why your look changed so much from Stand Up and Scream to now. Any reason?
A: We grew up. Not knocking people that still dress how we did, just that's not us anymore. We're different people and some of our fans are just having a hard time adjusting to how we are now.
Q: Did you have sexual relations with Craig Owens?
A: So many, and they were as hot and sexy as you imagined them! Me and my friends are close and we joke, if any of you think we really chill all day sucking each others dicks and talking about how awesome we are, then I have no hope for you as a person.
Q: I see a lot of tweets about how famous your girlfriend is. What exactly does she do?
A: She's a model and owns a company called Backstage Sirens. (website coming soon!)
Q: Did you leak your own nude for publicity?
A: No, it was the age-old story of sending it to a girl, getting some back, it went back and forth till we never talked anymore, then bam, it's there online. It's more likely that she posted it as a namedropping attention quest.
Q: Are you still on all the drugs? Or are you actually clean now?
A: I'm clean. Have been a little while now. It's hard but yeah. I may dabble once or twice in the future, it's impossible to say right now. Bt as of now, I am clean as clean can be.
Q: Apparently your leaving AA? Please don't your fucking awesome x
A: No, I'm not leaving.. I don't know where this started, but it's not true. I have a solo album that I'm working on and me and Ben are working on a lot of stuff on the side (not just music). I'm sticking in AA though.
Q: Do you do drugs? And is your music going to sound something like 80's rock now?
A: I have gone through a lot of drugs, I am now not doing them. I love 80's rock, but I want to go into something softer and 'nicer'. Something relaxed and easy to listen to. Still very much rock though!
Q: Is everyone in AA straight?
A: Yes everyone's straight, we all have girlfriends too.
Q: Are you bi?
A: No. I just joke with my friends a lot.
Q: Is AA a good a personal level?
A: We've had our ups and down through 2010, me especially. The downs are primarily down to me. It's been a very hard year for me and I've been through a lot. I hit the lowest of the low and didn't honestly know if I was going to make it out. But I'm here, and I'm the happiest I've been in a long time.
Q: Do you have a kid with a stripper?
A: I got a stripper pregnant, it wasn't planned. It got pretty far in but we lost it. I'm kinda glad. With the shit I was doing back then, all the drugs and drinking... I was in no fit place to raise a child. I could barely take care of myself.
Q: Is it true that your an ass hole in person? I've been told that by a few people.
A: No. I can be, same as everyone can. I'm very opinionated, if I don't like something, I voice my opinion on it. I like to be on my own a lot and am very confident. People mistake that for cockiness. I get in bad moods a lot and people just think I'm like it all the time. What with all the shit I've been through this last year, I had a lot of bad days. Anyone that knows me, even if we're not friends, can back that up. It's just a bad first impressive I've made at times.
Q: Apparently you and Architects have a thing against each other... Like they said in metal hammer. Is it true?
A: Nope, we've never met the guys and have no problem with them. Apparently they seem to have some problem with us, but we didn't hear anything about it until they put it in a magazine. It's whatever, we didn't expect to please everyone.
