I know it doesn't sound very humble, but I think I've become mature as an artist. I'm writing songs about what I'm living for or what I've lived. I'm singing stronger, with better melodies and more soulful phrasing than I ever have. What it amounts to is being myself. And the thing about me is, no matter what the music may sound like, anything I do is always going to be Country, because I'm Country to the core. I wanted it to be real and emotional and to reflect aspects of my life and my family's life right at this moment. And I wanted it to sound big. Say what you will about the blending of Country and rock 'n' roll, but I love it. I wanted it, but without any compromises in the music. .. ....A few months back you preformed at the Royalto in Joliet, IL. (South of Chicago) My husband and I were there with one of my daughters and some of our grandkids and we all enjoyed it. I hope you had a chance to see the Royalto itself, it is a wonderful theater and has great people running it.
We hope you will honor us again with another great performance there.
There was one piece that just intrigued me. I can't recall the name of the piece but it had and unusual (to me) rhythm and if I recollect there were two percussion set ups for it. If this rings any bells I sure would like to know the name of it and if it is on one of your cds
