  • The 2008 MAVRIC Music Awards

    The MAVRIC Awards is a program specifically for Independent artists that either perform or reside in Ventura County, California and help enrich the area's musical and artistic community.

    The MAVRIC Awards will have awards spanning multiple genres of music that will be determined by three judging group's: Musicians (45%), a representative from the music community (35%), and online voting (20%). A compilation CD will be created from the awards program.

    Both Original musicians and Cover material musicians can submit for The MAVRIC Awards. There will be both recorded and live performance awards. Cover material musicians are eligible for Live Performance and Group Awards.

    Categories Include:

    Song,

    CD (8 songs or more),

    EP (5-7 songs),

    Demo (2-4 Songs),

    Vocal Performance,

    Instrumental Solo,

    Well I wanted to let you know that I am officially signed up and getting started in competition for GAC's Next Big Star!  I am so excited that GAC (Great American Country) once again gives new artists the opportunity to be heard.  I am carefully working on my own video to go along with my song "Things I Love".  I am definitely having fun doing it.

  • GAC’s "Next Big Star"

    I wanted to officially let everyone know that I have totally lost my mind and I have signed up for the new TV show called GAC's "Next Big Star".  I know, I have definitely lost it, but I have seen many artists make it on similar shows who have struggled on a daily basis like I have.  So many of them friends on myspace. 

    The part that is new for me is the "video" requirement.  Since I spent so much time doing movies and television where there were cameras everywhere, it is hard pressed for me to bring a video camera and have someone filming me during a performance.  But now you see, I have buckled under the pressure.  I even went out and purchased an HD camcorder!  Of course I have absolutely no idea how to use it.  So for GAC I will make this tremedous sacrifice.

    Who knows, I may even enjoy making my own videos.  I will keep you posted every step of the way.  And of course if I actually make it onto the show, you won't be able to shut me up.  I will tell you all about the experience.
