..The Flamenco / Surf-Rock Instrumental sounds of USA artist, Chris Brian Gussa’s guitar work have more than caught on in Austria! They are now the most played “Piped in Music” in malls, gyms, grocery stores, museums, art galleries, universities etc. in that entire country with seven of Gussa’s entire CDs worth of tracks in regular rotation! (About 50 tracks) A survey taken says the people there ask more of “Who is that artist?” than of anyone else on the network. .. So why is this world class instrumental artist not played and appreciated in this magnitude in his own country - the good ol’ USA? One simple reason! Austria found him through CD Baby by just listening to all the artists while Chris had not spent one dime on any sort of promotion! Austria simply searched the music and found what they liked and felt had good “Keep the customer listening” appeal. It worked! .. Let’s face it America, we are a country that screams for promotion and wants to have commercials blared in our face twenty times a day before we can ever decide if we really “like it!” We still need radio and TV to dictate what is and what isn’t “hip”. That’s getting a little bit insulting to our intelligence don’t you think? .. So what does Chris Brian Gussa say about all this? .. “Austria paid me very well up front for this contract and I understand they are now quite successful with my music. I am happy with the deal and I am also very happy for them. (The contract is not binding in any other country and I can sell again to whomever I want (other than someone in Austria) .. People have often asked me why I have not promoted my music here in the USA and my answer is simply, “My music is, of course, always for sale but I am also a Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner and I have to speak with people about their very health and life functions on a daily basis! I don’t need to sound like a carnival act to the world on top of this. When Americans are ready to listen carefully to my music for themselves then I am ready to sell.” .. It turns out that Gussa has one of the most successful and sought after on-line hand crafted herbal medicine operations in the world called PlantCures.Com! Just put in a search for Dr. Christopher Gussa and you will see what we are talking about, or go to his site at www.plantcures.com. You might want to get an herbal remedy for that bout with high blood pressure you are having while you are at it! .. So do yourself a favor, America! Quit waiting to be told what to listen to and go to CD Baby! (As of yet CD Baby is the only real distributor of his music in America) Just type in Chris Brian Gussa and sit back and let this wonderful refreshing music filled with amazing world class guitar work and wonderful yet not over-stated production speak to you. You will hear what Austria heard for the very first time. -

Growing up surfing in the San Diego aria, Chris knows the surfing experience almost as well as the guitar experience so the two just had to come together. (Along with the Mexican music) .. Chris Brian Gussa grew up near the Tijuana border of Mexico in San Diego, California, learning to play guitar at the age of six and was beginning to have a preference for Blues Style Lead Guitar by the age of ten. By the age of 16 he won a KGB radio contest for the title of "Best Blues Guitarist in San Diego" .. Says Chris, "I didn't have a chance, they got me while I was sleeping! When I was about six my Dad helped me build a crystal radio set. I used to fall asleep with the little ear-phone in my ear listening to Mexican stations which came through loud and clear being so close to Tijuana. I am convinced that as I slept, this beautiful Mexican music got into my subconscious. One of the stations always signed off saying something in Spanish followed by the most beautiful and fastest Lead Guitar scale run I had ever heard in my life! They singed off at midnight and I would always sit up wide awake after the run was played. I had just received my first guitar and would try to repeat the scale every morning when I woke up. Although I never knew the players name I literally learned the run in my sleep and I think I tried to put a little of that scale into all my music every since." -
