  • Bio

The eve of March 16th 1986 spawned the multi faceted, Middle Eastern mastermind, Ehab Adel Abdel-Mejid also known as, E Money. Born in Dubai, to a family of five, E Money rapidly grew to realize that his talents set him apart from peers of his age; he was all but the ordinary. Although of Egyptian descent, E Money along with his family, spent the majority of their lives in Dubai. And it was in his teenage years that he returned to his native Cairo, Egypt where he currently resides. Within Cairo, Money relocated often but never left the capital. Here he attended high school and thereafter, developed a career for himself at a relatively young age. Post graduation, he perfected his artistic talents and developed a career in graphic design. Unknown to most, E Money first began expressing his creativity through the arts. Thereafter, he transferred his talents into the realm of hip hop. E Money is the youngest known rapper to date in the Middle East coming in at only twenty-three years old. His talents however surpass his age tremendously and his experiences including- death, military service and the hardships of a grassroots movement- have all shaped his character and made him invincible creatively. Indeed Money is a master of his craft yet all his stories are very really and are all experiences he has lived. Viewers get more than clever rhymes, they get an introduction to the trials, the tragedies and triumphs E Money has endured. Although Money often works within group settings, his creativity is unlike any of his peers. Mixing soul, hardcore rap and some classic Arabic music birthed the three dimensional artist fans have come to know today. Working to empower his listeners, is Ehab, the spoken artist, ready to spar is the soldier, el gondy el mahghoul and finally, we have E-money the soulful serenading singer skillfully soothing the listeners ears. He attributes his current lyrical and musical power to the great Abd el Halim and Fayrooz for their works helped him appreciate the delicacy of music. For E Money, they were the foundation which he carefully studied and incorporated into his own delivery. So you wonder how E Money learned of his talents? Simply, as he recalls, God blessed everyone with undiscovered skills. Exploring his manifested abilities, E Money reached for his sword and shield. Fearlessly armed to take on the world, he worked to mystically fuse rhymes solely without beats or music. Presently, E Money’s uncanny flow is admired by plenty yet imitated by none. Using a rapid spit-fire flow, he captivates his listeners and keeps them readily attuned to his next verse. In 2004, Money, joined a group called Asfalt; together, Yasser, Ibrahim and Money showcased their early talents in the emergent hip hop scene of Cairo. But it was in 2006 that E Money became a ‘knight’. After parting ways with Asphalt Money linked up with Sphinx, Rush and Hoss to form Arabian Knightz. Thereafter, the revolutionaries reigned over the metropolis of the Middle Eastern hip hop movement. As the fastest rapper throughout the Arab world, E Money employs the Egyptian accent in his rhymes developing noteworthy recognition for the most influential popular culture dialect within the Middle East. To date, the Egyptian dialect is one of the most reputable and respected lyrical forms of hip hop engineered by E Money’s speed and play on words. Not only is his flow exceptional throughout Arabia, globally, E Money has yet to be defeated. The formation of AK (Arabian Knightz) led to an invasion of the underground hip hop culture. AK stormed the scene and their presence still remains strong. They paved the way for rising hip hoppers and youths all throughout the Arab World. AK is a group like no other featuring rap in English and also in colloquial and Modern Standard Arabic. The listener gets the LA vibe through Sphinx’s rhymes, and a glimpse of the Egyptian struggles using colloquial and professional poetic conjunctions presented by both Money and Rush. Noting his accomplishments as a solo artist, Money has been featured on tracks with Outlandish and the Palestinian rap trio DAM. Listeners can observe Money as a solo artist on his hit single ‘La Ra7ata fel Donya‘, and on Outlandish’s ‘The Whole World‘. He also has projects on underground mixtapes with his fellow band mates Sphinx, Rush, and former Asfalt member, Yasser -also known as 3afreet el kalam- part of today’s new hip hop sensation Weghet Nazar. With AK, Money has worked with highly proclaimed producers Fahd and the West Coast’s hit maker FredWreck Nasser. Also, he has collaborated with meen? That’s right Mc Amin, Ghetto Pharoahs and various artists hailing from Arabia and the United States. Featured on AK’s Uknighted Statez of Arabia album are multiple genres including some classic instruments and singers such as Latifa, Hisham Abbas and Mohamed Mohey to name a few. The future for E Money is loaded with opportunities that will surely transform the world’s vision of hip hop in the Middle East. He is kicking down doors solely and conquering with AK as his army. Listeners need always be alert when listening to E Money for his lyrics are forthcoming lessons about society and Arab culture all the while revering the hidden beauty of hip hop. Locked, loaded, and ready to deliver, is E Money the Arabian thriller……
