Bio
I know when it comes to a bio, the right thing to do is either hire a fancy writer person or just write it yourself and pretend you're a biographer. Unfortunately, I spent the last of my money on bulk quantities of macaroni and a few dozen pairs of 3/4-length socks, and I don't want to write yet another third-person bio. So, I'll just do what I do best and ramble! Hi there! I'm 6'3", with large hands and hazel eyes. I enjoy long walks on the beach, soft candlelit dinners, and evenings spent reciting romantic poetry. My turn ons are...oh, crap...wrong bio! Allow me to start over: My name is Eric. I'm the youngest of six kids, and was born and raised in a small town in the middle of Minnesota. I was a choir boy all through my school days. I was a first tenor until after I graduated high school. Between then and now, I must have spent one too many nights in smoky bars, because that high range is now nowhere to be found! Speaking of those smoky bars, I started playing in bands right out of high school. I don't think I ever wanted to be a rock star. On second thought, I guess I must have...I still have plenty of spandex gig shirts and leather pants from those days to prove it! I also recall an incident with glittery hair gel and one of Grandma's necklaces. I'm not proud of this, folks. But as the kids say these days..."it is what it is". Luckily, I found my way back to my country roots. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to George Strait in the garage with Dad on Saturday afternoons, and years later it was King George who re-ignited my passion for country music. I spent quite a few years cutting my teeth on the stages of small clubs and town festivals in the Upper Midwest. It was at one of those clubs that I had a chance meeting with a Texas gal who was summering in Minnesota. She introduced me to the country music that was being made in Texas, and I was hooked. After visiting the Lone Star state for the first time, I decided to take the plunge and move my base of operations to Austin. To me, Austin is like Heaven on Earth. Instead of angels, however, Austin has hippies! Good people, good food, good weather, and good music...my kind of place! During the next few years, I spent my time playing the Texas honky-tonk circuit. My time in Texas culminated with a year spent fronting the house band at Cowboys Dancehall in Dallas. Performing in front of thousands of music-savvy Texans each week offered me a great opportunity to work on my live show. Now I am in Nashville. I'm a celebrity dog walker and on most weekends you'll find me operating a face-painting booth at local carnivals. It's been going pretty well, so I've been thinking about joining the circus. I figure it has to be easier than the music industry. Plus, I've always wanted to see inside one of those clown cars. I'll keep you posted... -
