Vangelis Papathanassiou

Bio:

Born in 1943 on the 29th of March near the town of Volos Greece, for as far back as he can remember, Vangelis has always been obsessed with sound. He began composing music at the age of four...but as a young lad, he refused to take traditional piano lessons and subsequently, throughout much of his early career, he had very little knowledge of how to read or write musical notation. Today he proudly proclaims predominance as a self-taught musician...yet, having studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens, few are also aware that he's an accomplished painter as well.
