Gígur is formed in June 2003 by guitarist and composer Iván Tamez , looking for a distinct sound than his previous bands Mamíferos Habituales (1994-98) and Reactor (1998-01) incorporating elements of various types of music ranging from progressive rock and metal in various of his forms, blues , folk and noise improvisation between others musical and extramusical. October 03 will mark the beginning of the recording of Gígur´s first recording called Fin del Tiempo (en tus manos) , with Ricardo Vilchez on bass , Emilio Delgado on drums and percussion , Jorge Bringas on guitar and synthesizer and special guests Mercy on drums (later , Mercy would fill the skins section) and Arturo Aguirre on bass . Interpretation and art work is made by local artist Ricardo López. The work took over a year to complete. In Nov 04 the band won a monetary aid from an art government institution (CONARTE) wich helped to pay the pressing of the cd. The cd is for sale at our official homepage www.gigur.com EN ESPAÑOL Gígur se forma en el mes de Junio del 2003 por el guitarrista y compositor Iván Tamez, en el cual busca un sonido distinto de sus bandas anteriores Mamíferos Habituales (1994-98) y Reactor (1998-01) , al incorporar elementos de distintos tipos de música desde el rock progresivo y el metal en varias de sus corrientes,el blues, folk y la improvisación ruidista entre otros musicales y extramusicales. En Octubre del 2003 Gígur comienza a grabar su primera producción intitulada "Fin del Tiempo (en tus manos)" , con Ricardo Vilchez en el bajo , Emilio Delgado en la batería y percusiones , Jorge Bringas en la guitarra y sintetizadores y Mercy en la batería (poco después Mercy ocuparía el puesto de baterista permanente) y Arturo Aguirre en el bajo como "invitados especiales". El arte del disco lo trabaja el artista tamaulipeco Ricardo López. El disco toma forma en un año. En Noviembre del 2004 el grupo gana un apoyo monetario a través de un concurso de producción musical de una prestigiosa organización gubernamental cultural (CONARTE) el cual se usa para la maquila del disco.El disco se encuentra a la venta en nuestra página oficial www.gigur.com
