Lindsey has just finished putting together a vegan cookbook. It has just over 30 recipes as well as several pages dedicated to defining all kinds of vegan ingredients, where to find them, and how to use them. There are recipes for Breakfast, Sides, Entrees and Desserts which have all been taste tested and approved by several people to ensure their quality. She has written this to help people who didn't know anything about vegan/vegetarian cooking or for people that just like trying new recipes. Obviously, if you are vegan this will come in handy, but if you aren't vegan and have friends who are this would be a great help if you ever want to make them something! She'll be selling them at shows for $5. If you want one and don't catch her at a show, or want to help her distribute them email her at: LWhitaker82@yahoo.com
Please write this letter to a member of the board of director's of YUM Brands, the parent company of KFC. The board of directors has more control over a company than the President or even the CEO, and have all the power to change anything a company does, such as improving the companies treatment of chickens. Feel free to write this in your own words, don't expect a reply, so no need for putting your real address down.

Dear Mr. Grissom:
I know all about KFC’s cruelty towards chickens and your inability to implement PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) animal welfare standards. Other fast-food chains such as McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, and even supermarket chains such as Safeway have mandated that their suppliers are no longer committing the worst cases of factory farm abuse, and supply exclusively from factory farms and slaughterhouses that are inspected for abuse, without prior notice. Burger King has even gone so far as to provide a veggie burger at every one of their restaurant locations. As long as KFC continues to be stubborn, I will continue to order “KFC Cruelty” stickers and flyers, handing them out at various KFC locations to customers and employees. I have attended several pickets in front of your restaurants with big signs and lots of support.
I will also continue to educate my friends, family, and classmates to not only boycott KFC, but every member of the YUM family: Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, A&W Restaurants, and Long John Silvers.
The fact that the majority of your business interests are non-Yum related has propelled me to contact your fellow board members. Carbon copies of this letter along with letters detailing the abuses at KFC suppliers will be sent to educate your friends at Mayfair Capital, Inc., the Glenview Trust Company, Churchill Downs Inc., Providian Financial Corporation, and the Board of Trustees of Center College.
I highly suggest that you use your influence on the Yum board to change the way KFC treats chickens worldwide, and adopt PETA’s recommendations for basic animal welfare standards, available at www.kfccruelty.com. Otherwise, you might want to consider leaving a company that tortures and abuses millions of animals and is potentially harmfull to your reputation due to bad publicity.
Enclose a few pictures of chickens and how badly they are treated at a KFC slaughterhouses:
