Hi, My name is Jesus Lara Tovar. I am running for the Dallas City Council District 1. Thank you for viewing my webpage. So the big question is why should you vote for me? After all I am running as an independent against a very powerful incumbent and shouldn't even bother. Well, that's the thing.... I am bothered. I feel it is our duty as Americans to speak up when something bothers us. This is the way I feel I can be heard. By running for City Council. I love Oak Cliff. I have lived here for 20 years. I went to school here and I have no plans anytime on leaving. Is it just me or does Oak Cliff need MORE improvements? Do you feel our streets need to be safer? Do you believe our representative in Dallas City Council is NOT doing enough? Do you think more interest should be coming our way towards our beloved Oak Cliff? Do our schools need improvement? DO our children deserve a better fair shot at the American Dream? Do you believe politicians are just all talk and no action? If you answered yes to any of these questions then vote for me. Who am I? I am a DISD product attending W.E. Greiner Middle School and graduacting from W.H. Adamson High School in 1994. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have lived with my grandparents since I was 4. I hold very strong moral values with everything I do. I am a 30 year old citizen that wants to better our community.
