    Kenne' Wayne The Hit Maker
The Best Kept Secret In The Southern Soul Market

Just when I thought things couldn't get
any better for Southern Soul Market

Well it just did. I was surfing the internet and came across Kenne' Wayne's website. The first page had a video of him performing ONE of his hits entitled Miss Goldee. He was in Alabama and the crowd was going crazy. He was performing with lots of energy and style. Not to mention dressed to the nines. His showmanship and love for performing showed during the entire performance. I was truly impressed, because it isn't often you get a chance to see an artist entertain you while on stage. Most of the time artists are standing in one spot through half their show and then move from that spot to another spot, Yawn. We might get a hip movement, a flick of the tongue or maybe a joke and not to mention the never ending cussing. Sometimes we might even get a few gifts and then we're shuffled to the back to purchase a CD and a thank you.

There are several great Southern Soul entertainers and that's what they do entertain and give us our monies worth with a feeling of satisfaction to boot. Kenne' Wayne is just that kind of artist. He is truly an entertainer and it shows when he's on stage. You can see his face light up and his adrenaline starts pumping when he's performing. That's when you know an artist or musician love what they do. I have seen him on stage myself several times and I never came from the show feeling like I just got duped out of my money or suckered.

While on his website I also was able to listen to every song on each cd that he has released since 1995. Not many artists will let us here what else they have to offer on their released CDs. We can only listen to clips of only their hit songs from each or their CDs, in some cases A CD. Anyway, I heard songs from all 7 CDs that was released throughout the years and was surprised that he had songs that were never heard on the radio or in the clubs. Songs that very well could've been great hits as well, such as,
"In and Out Of Love", "Doin' It For You" and "Tired Of Reminiscing " on his 1995 Old Fashion Love CD. Lets jump to 1999 with "Let's Get Married" and "Shake Me " on his Love Down CD. In 2000 his song "Encore (A Tribute To Johhny Taylor)" from his Licka Sticka CD is a definite hit and in 2004 "I Found Love" on his Who Is It? CD is awesome. That's just to name a few. He could do a Kenne' Wayne Greatest Hits CD for sure.

I have to wonder why Kenne' Wayne music isn't played in many markets when it's about the best music I've ever heard among many. I constantly here music that sounds like it was produced with a keyboard in my grandmother's basement or a garage and is played until you can scream. But DJs won't play an artists music such as Kenne Wayne who has great music production and his vocals and pitches are on the dime. It is sad when talent is placed beneath the radar because of greed and control. I have to admire Kenne' Wayne for continuing to produce hit after hit. It seems he is not one that is buying into the politics and he continues to bring us great sounding music and an awesome performance no matter what. Way to go!

He isn't the typical Southern Soul Artist that produces the usual cheating on someone or sticking something here or there with every release. His music is of many lifes situations. His music will make you dance, cry and glad for another day to live, love and laugh. It will take you on a rollercoaster ride without leaving the ground. Just sit back and listen. I did and it was worth the trip.

Now, I must touch on this subject. Why hasn't Kenne' Wayne been nominted for an award or at least placed on a list to be voted for an award? He's a man with never ending hits, great stage performance, awesome music production as I said earlier, never misses a show when hired and gives 110% of himself, not to mention 7 CDs with several hit songs on each one. But there are artists that have one or two CDs with one hit song on each CD, but has won awards year after year and their music is played until the towers at the radio stations bleep and go silent until the song is over. Do you feel me? Maybe if he stick his tongue out on stage, cuss, tell a joke or dole out a few bucks, maybe he will at least get on the voting list, I said maybe, lets not get to excited here! Tell you what, why not visit his website at www.kennewayne.com a see for yourself.

I must give kudos to those DJs that know good music when they hear it and don't mind playing it without looking for something in return. Much love to the DJs in the clubs on the radio that love their job and do their job. As DJ Chico Jackson of ChicosRadio.com said "Kenne' Wayne is our best kept secret in the Southern Soul market". Well, I say let the secret out and tell it to everyone you know. Much love to Kenne' Wayne for doing his job as an artist and entertainer. Round of applause to the man that writes and produces his own music along with famed keyboardist Ves who co wrote "The Party Ain't Over", "Soul Blues", "Who Is It", "Putting Our Business In The Street" and "Encore(tribute to johnny taylor)". Kenne' Wayne is definitely adored by male and females alike because of his ability to produce tasteful music and his real to life lyrics, such as:
