LAM BIOGRAPHY:


    loadingLondon After Midnight (LAM) was formed in the 1990s by Sean Brennan. Unlike most music projects, LAM has retained and nurtured the political and socially aware element of the late punk scene that virtually vanished from music in the early 90s, and has developed as a deep, passionate and political dark rock music entity. Live members vary but include Sean Brennan, Randy Mathias, Pete Pace and Matthew Setzer. LAM has gained a large and loyal following all over the world, from the USA, Europe, Latin America, Russia (where LAM has toured extensively), and beyond, to Japan, China and elsewhere (appearing in major press and securing distribution deals with record labels).


    London After Midnight has headlined and co-headlined concerts and major festivals with bands like The Cure, Green Day, HIM (HIM often cites LAM as a favorite artist), and countless other major artists. LAM has performed to crowds of over 30,000 people as headliner or co-headliner on major music festivals around the world. Still, London After Midnight maintains a strong underground and independent "personality" despite being a top seller (charting in the top 10 and top 20 of the European DAC and alternative charts with each of 4 CDs released) and a major draw at music festivals year after year.


    Songwriter, instrumentalist, producer and founder Sean Brennan is known for his strong stances in favor of animal rights, pro-environmental and human rights issues, and progressive/liberal politics. Whatever the approach or subject matter, the music of London After Midnight is deeply touching, powerful, socially aware, romantic, emotional, haunting, moving, and even exhibits a morbid wit with its sarcasm and sardonic humor (listen to the tongue-in-cheek "Your Best Nightmare" and try not to think of an Edward Gorey story).


    LAM is all this, having a very well defined personality while at the same time appealing to a wide variety of people. There really is no classification that fits London After Midnight (despite LAM's "dark" image) because the music is so varied and the lyrical content (and even LAM's personality and causes) are uncommon in today's music scene, often breaking boundaries - much to the outrage of people who live and die by genre labels. Sean Brennan shuns all labels (as any artist worth their salt will do) and the music he creates can really only be classified as "London After Midnight".


    The ground-breaking new London After Midnight CD 'Violent Acts of Beauty' has been released in Europe and the USA (Trisol Music Group Germany, Metropolis Records USA) and in Russia (Iron D Records). The new CD has received critical acclaim with Germany's top music magazine, Orkus, proclaiming "Violent Acts of Beauty is a masterpiece of sound and lyric".

Read this article from Salon.com that explains it all fairly well and counters all the arguments meat eaters have against vegans.


I have been a vegan for most of my life for a variety of reasons, all of which are valid and should convince any rational person to also switch to a vegan diet. But sometimes people don't want to hear the scientific, environmental or humanitarian reasons why a vegan diet is actually essential for the planet and our own health and well-being (not to mention the animal's well-being). So opening those people's eyes to the basic reality and horror of the meat industry is the only course of action, as most people are ignorant of this aspect, or chose to ignore it- and allow themselves to be blinded by the multi-billion dollar meat industry that makes money off hiding this reality from you.


Anyone who eats meat or consumes dairy products must watch this video. If people do not watch this video yet continue eating meat, then they are part of a larger problem, where people chose to ignore their responsibility to themselves, to others, to the environment, and future generations. When people willfully ignore harsh or unpleasant realities then they have no right to complain about anything, ever, and they are clearly selfish and arrogant. Being willfully ignorant of the facts just because you don't like those facts it not an admirable trait.


For the sake of illustration- since up to one million innocent Iraqis have been killed in Iraq since the Republican sponsored war began there, who do we blame if not the people who handed Bush power and cheered on his bogus war?


If people support the meat industry, they support brutal, harmful, wasteful and unnecessary cruelty towards animals (and towards poor people in developing countries, as well. When farming meat, we waste irreplaceable natural resources that could be used to feed starving nations - up to 30,000 people die EVERY day due to starvation-related disease).


Also, the meat industry is a leading consumer of fossil fuels. We're fighting wars for oil and other resources right now. By eating meat people are contributing to our addiction to oil and other fossil fuels. Farming meat also produces more greenhouse gases than all the cars, trucks, planes, and ships on earth - combined (this is fact as stated by the UN and industry statistics)! Since Global Climate Change is real, and man-made, and already effecting populations world-wide, this is another factor to consider when eating meat. People are helping to destroy the planet by supporting the meat and dairy industries.


So when people consume meat or dairy products they support this horror, just like when people support Republican policy they support corruption, corporate control, war, racism and brutality. Knowledge is power. All I'm asking you to do is think and learn the FACTS before you form an opinion.


I am not judging anyone, I am simply asking you to KNOW what the meat/dairy industry is all about before you support it. Watch this short video or admit that you just do not care about the suffering and damage your luxuries cause. Thanks for listening.
