Leslie Perry - Storyteller

About me:

Leslie Perry is a modern day griot. He has told his brand of stories since 1975, performing throughout California at schools, libraries, colleges, senior citizen centers, museums, churches, theatres, and festivals. He has also created one-person shows under grants and commissions; One of his commission works was "The Story of the Olympic Games", which he toured at over 30 schools and libraries.

Perry has taught storytelling to children at schools and adults at California State University, Los Angeles. He is the recipient of the Leadership Award from the National Storytelling Network, and is also a founding member of The Los Angeles Storytelling Festival.

Among the many stories that Perry tells are the folk tales, tall tales, scary stories, and historical stories... He even tells a few personal and original stories as well!

Perry has over forty stories in his repertory, and over thirty years of outstanding experience, so he has many stories to select from for any event or program. His telling style is full with a ..great deal.. of energy, along with lots of audience participation and interaction.
