Bio
MagellanMusic came together in 1975 when progressive rock was at full flower and almost every style was acceptable. Very quickly a lot of strange things about MagellanMusic were realized; they were always quirky, never followed the rules of the trade, didn't indulge in the ego trip that many artists do, used aliases instead of their real names to bring attention to the band and not themselves, experimented with every genre of music imaginable, band members came and went at a dizzying rate yet were always welcome to re-join, stopped playing live in the early 1980's to become a studio band, none of which is endearing to the industry, and why MagellanMusic are virtual grandpa's of the Indie scene today. But the final reality is that MagellanMusic is very original, have a flair for producing albums that avoid the 'sameness' from one to the next, and are very good at their craft. They have 30 albums under their belts, the last 4 on CD. They are excellent songwriters, professional in play, very expressive, clever at arrangements and production, creative with their artwork and presentation – altogether a band with definitive quality in their work. Most of all, they hope listeners enjoy it, and that's what all artists try to do. There really is nothing better that could be said about MagellanMusic. -

Sounds Like
What we think we sound like is probably nothing like what it sounds like to you, but the closest comparisons would be the Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues, and Klaatu. Maybe a smooth cauldron of Progressive Pop...
