Bio
This unsigned hip-hop artist has never been more ready as he releases his debut album, Listen Hear. .... Artist MAXIMVS (pronounced maximus) is right on target for a successful career in music. Born in Abilene TX, the hip-hop/ rap performer/ songwriter/ producer can not claim any one location as a hometown. As the son of a hardworking, single mother, he moved around most of his life which took him back and forth across the country, spending time on both the east and west coast as well as down south. Though some might see this as a disadvantage in today’s hip-hop world he considers it a benefit, making him a more versatile artist highly adaptable to the ever-evolving music industry. His assumed moniker is the result of time spent as a third member of a revolutionary-minded rap group known as Th’amenistry (pronounced The Ministry). The same politically-charged subject matter can still be heard on his album in songs like “Fight the Future”. The all-capitalized spelling is meant to be reminiscent of roman numerals as a way of honoring his family’s Italian roots. His flow is the influence of hip-hop greats like Nas, Tupac, and LL Cool J, just to name a few. His production style is jazzy and melodic with catchy rhythms and emotional chords. His talent, ambition, and focus are the product of a life-long dream and the continuous pursuit of satisfaction, as well as the betterment of self. .... MAXIMVS has grown considerably since he first started recording music over a decade ago. He has learned from working with other talented artists, musicians, and producers, and adapting that into his own brand of marketable material. His life experiences and bold creativity have developed into the impressive and moving tracks you’ll hear when you inevitably visit his web page. .... Now, MAXIMVS is confident to take his sound to the world. To be able to share his craft with the masses, and make a comfortable living doing so, is the ultimate goal for this up and coming hit maker. .... Listen to tracks like “Senorita”, “Good Life” and “Where ya heart at”, and you’ll realize MAXIMVS is no run-of-the-mill recording artist. His hooks are more than memorable, his concepts are thought-provoking, and his delivery is unmistakable. His range of styles covers everything from the simple party track, to songs about life and love, as well as conscious thought. .... An undeniable affection for music paired with what seems to be a natural talent is what motivates MAXIMVS to keep striving for success. While in his teens he began free-styling and later started making connections with other artists/ producers like Khali, whom he still considers his primary mentor, as well as R&B up-and-comer Dony Adair and many other phenomenal rappers and hip-hop producers. .... MAXIMVS has opened up for Lil Webbie, showcased for Naughty by Nature and Bad Boy A&R, Conrad Dimanche, and has also been featured on www.TooHotRadio.com. He has also performed at countless talent shows to include the African American History Festival in Shreveport, LA, always receiving positive reviews. .... The best work from MAXIMVS is yet to come, while the many sides of his artistic identity are just now receiving overdue recognition. Stay tuned for more great releases and news as he focuses on making the leap from unknown to mainstream. -
