Your idea is the best idea I've heard in a long time! Sustainability comes in many forms and the interconnectedness of diverse local artists is a formidable beginning to the sustainable growth of creativity. By connecting local musicians you give us a wider palette of talent to choose from. There is an arguable rumor, some promoters have adopted, that musicians from away must be better than local musicians. I've been in Portland, ME since 1992 and the scattered talent has grown tremendously. When referring to the 1960's counterculture of uprootedness, poet Gary Snyder said, "The most radical thing you could do is stay at home." Seems as though that he was prescient by recognizing that strong, rooted movements start in your neighborhood and you don't have to travel far to find like-minded individuals to work with and learn from. Thank you for helping to make the array of local talent less scattered and sustaining our passion to create!

I remember listening to a lot of Weird Al on Mckeen Street.
