  • Bio

.. .. .. .. .. .. .... A P.I.M.P. with a Tambourine the freshest newest hottest thing on the scene. After many years of watching the rap game KingDRO is ready to enter the center bringing something fresh new exciting and different. He's like some type of old school P.I.M.P. with a new school twist. One of his two singles is "Smack-A-Freak Bounce". It's a brandnew dance created in the streets of Cincinnati. It combines elements of Zapp, Midnight Star and of course KingDRO's lyrical dexterity to bring you that new Ohio Funk. The other track on the CD is "Got Butt?!", about the pheonomon of white women with larger assets than what is perceived as normal. Part stand-up comic, part lyrical savant , KingDRO's style is NoParticularStyle so get ready for the "Oh Oh Ah Ah". ..I AM Seattle...... .. .. .. .. .. ... .. .. .. .. ..Posted By:..P.I.M.P. I started working on this project in 2003 but I didn’t know it at that time. That’s at a time in my life when KingDRO had been my street name for about four years. The first song was “Smack-A-Bitch Bounce” which I wrote in Queensgate back in Cincinnati, OH in 1999 and YES I was guilty of the crime. I didn’t record the song until 2003 by this time I was living in Seattle, WA with the “Bitch” in question. Only if I would have known, but I’ll get to that. The song was recorded in February 2003 at No Sleep Productions with Mr. Jerry (Sanders) and his “Buddy Moe”. My Pops was in the studio and he along with everyone else said that I had a hit song but I couldn’t talk about smackin bitches. I performed the song in Seattle a few times (Chop Suey The Comedy Underground) before I replaced it with “Smack-A-Freak Bounce”. I recorded more songs in the between time but these are the ones that shaped my career. The next song was “Got Butt?!”in March 2005. I wrote this song about ONE white girl that I seen while I was working at the Space Needle (a long story but I’ll tell you if you have the time). Like most of my KingDRO songs this was just another joke with some truth to it. “A white girl with a down south corn fed dirty ass”. At the time I was in close contact with Sir Mix-A-Lot’s manager Ricardo Frazier and I asked him if Mix wanted to produce it for me. His response was “Mix don’t won’t nothing to do with that”. I had a beat that I was doing a Kraftwerk type song like “Music Non Stop”. It was good but it was till missing something. That’s when I bumped into Vitamin D. We hooked up at his crib, smoked a blunt, dropped some heat and made the first official KingDRO song. Oh Oh Ah Ah. By this time it was summer 2005. The “Bitch” was gone and I was headed towards my dreams. I recorded the song with Kstiell at Fred Cain’s crib with a friend from the Space Needle named Bre Merriweather (Lady Merriweather). When I was doing the hook, which is “Oh My GOD these white girls got butt”. I heard what I needed to be talking about, My GOD. My voice had never sounded so blessed. I stopped KingDRO in his tracks and wrote songs under the name ‘Godzart”. I had been doing open mics at The EMP (experience music project). By this time I had my Tambourine and was becoming the P.I.M.P. with a Tambourine. The last night of that run was mid March and that was the first time I put on my CAPE. KingDRO was not going down that easy. For the next year I was up and down the West Coast. L.A., Portland, Vancouver B.C. and of course every where in Seattle. The best and longest run was at “The Speak Eazy” in Capital Hill. They let me get on stage one night and I’ve been on that stage ever since. By this time it’s March 2007 and I have about 5 or 6 songs that people sing in clubs all over the city, “Work It Off, Then What, My Nutz, P.I.M.P. Dust plus the ones from a few years back. I hadn’t checked my my space page for months and when I did on March 15. I had an email from Rudy Ray Moore aka Mr. Dolemite asking me if I wanted to open for him at the Funhouse. They had sent the email in January and it’s now March and the show was the 16th. I sent my phone number and got a call from The Ice Cream Man telling me it was a go for the show. I had never been a big fan of Mr. Dolemite’s I just remember people always talking about him or watching those crazy movies. I told my parents back in Cincinnati that I had a show with Rudy Ray Moore and my Mother said that’s a nasty man. My Pops said “I seen him back at the Safari club when I was 15 years old. I thought he was dead”. When I met Mr. Dolemite I told him what my father told me and then I asked him how long had he been doing this his response was “Longer than I care to remember I’ leaving the past where it’s at and I’m headed for new beginnings. Who are you?” I told him my name wiped the tear from my eye and got ready to rock. I had a good set. Mr. Dolemite had a great set after which he called me back up to do a song for him for his birthday. There I am on stage with Mr. Dolemite talking all kind of shit. After the Vitamin D co produced version of “Then What” I whispered in his ear “Thank You’ and he said, “You just might make it”, I said “I’ve already made it I’m here with Dolemite who’s gonna say shit to me?” We would go out to dinner and talk when he would come back to Seattle. He told the people at the premiere of his last movie “Dolemite Explosion” that I was the next legend. I sit here with tears forming in my eyes because in a world of hate I got some love and I miss my friend. The end of 2008 brought low times; my Mother died 3 weeks later Mr. Dolemite died. I went back to Cincinnati for my Mother’s funeral and the tears flowed like liquor at the “Speak Eazy”. Her last request of me was to sing my song “Searchin 4 Heaven”. I wasn’t KingDRO I wasn’t ArtWill I wasn’t Godzart. I was just that child that would sit on the steps of his aunt’s porch and cry until his Mother came back but this time he knew that she never would. From the up coming book “My Life Of Rhyme. If You Dream It You Can Touch It."

    Whats Up Mr. Pimpin'!
New Song Up! "CYBER RIDER" High Energy High Octane Blow Your Socks Off Guitar Synth Frenzy!

The best part about this is that this song is a collaborative effort with Myspace friend KROMATICMAN who is a synth wizard (And a really cool guy that you'll want to
friend). He initiated the collaboration asking me if I wanted to work
together on something. I said sure, what do I do? He said hang on I'm
working on something and then a few days later sent me an awesome synth
track. He told me "Go ahead and add some shred if you dare". I was up
for the challenge (and fun!) and all I had to do was just added
electric guitar! Sounded easy enough. Well then I listen to the track
and the song starts at 140bpm and accelerates to 160 and I thought this
is brilliant - but no friggin' way! I worked on it for a few days. Well
this is what I came up with and I love it. And it was so much fun!!!
Ha! Please stop by, take a listen and leave a comment! We would
appreciate it! We hope you enjoy it too!
