About me:

About me? I am a writer/director who loves truth. I directed the Feature Documentary, "SP!T", and most recently have moved into directing music videos. I feel like features are like novels, and music videos are like poems, and I'm having a blast working in this new medium. I live in Hollywood, but Hollywood doesn't live inside of me. I love working with true artists, such as the poets I have been so blessed to meet. Still working on getting my first feature done, but untill then, I want to continue working with underground artists who have a voice that hopefully I can help get out.

The trailer for SP!T the movie

This is a teaser for SP!T, Tshaka is amazing

Regardless of the venue, Mr. Rainwater portrays his subjects with an insider..s touch while finding the common thread that resonates with his audience. His projects have covered the gamut, from a candid look behind the privileged scenes of the French Open, to an exploration of the amazing world of spoken word. Rotimi himself has experienced the world from a variety of vantage points that continue to inform his wide-ranging collection of work. He was born in Banbury, England and grew up largely in Florida. After completing high school in South Florida, Rotimi chose to forego the college campus in favor of ..ABS.. or the ..Always Be Shooting.. film school. He learned the craft of filmmaking from the ground up on productions such as ..Passenger 57.. and ..My Girl,.. and on television shows such as ..Superboy.. and ..Swampthing... After sharpening his teeth in the Miami, Rotimi was invited to Los Angeles by Nolan Lamonte Films to work as a production coordinator on ad campaigns for Lexus and Sea Doo among others. In the ten years following, Rotimi independently produced and directed many documentary projects for youth and cause-based companies, including The Truth anti-tobacco campaign and the CDC..s VERB youth campaign. His self-styled education nurtured an eclectic, contemporary voice, informed by urban culture and an eye for arresting drama. These qualities carried through as he directed such productions as the Lyricist Lounge Tour and The Truth Tour, which connected music to today..s urban youth. After producing numerous television projects for E! Entertainment Television,.. ..The Tennis Channel,.. and other networks, Rotimi returned to his first love, film. He has recently finished the feature documentary ..SP!T,.. which premiered at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, where it won the Executive Director..s choice award for best documentary. After making it's rounds at other festivals such as the Maui International, Urban World, American Black Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival, SP!T was picked up and and is now scheduled for theatrical release through Alpine Pictures LTD. in the Fall of 2007. Capitalizing on the momentum from SP!T, Rotimi has signed a three picture development deal with Westwood-based Triple Take Media, in partnership with Image and Media. Through the partnership, Rotimi is slated to produce three more documentary projects.
