  • Bio

The Sea of Tombs took place in Chicago,Illinois from around 1998 to 2000. When drummer Mario Rubalcaba (who went on to play in RFTC,Hot Snakes & now Earthless) had just moved to Chicago & had previously met guitarist Bill Skibbe & bassist Jessica Ruffins through their previous band The Jaks.Talk ensued about jamming & what we were all listening to at the time. The answer was Blue Cheer. Indian buffet's were consumed before practice to get us all high in a way we have never before been able to achieve. Also high on the list was Bacci sliced pizza. In September 2000, Mario had the thumbs up to join RFTC & move back to his home in San Diego. So to remember the jams forever, the "Tombs" went into Electrical Audio Recording & laid down 6 ferocious instrumental jams that had been cooking up under high temperature's for a year or so.Sea of Tombs only played one show in it's existence,at a basement party in Ann Arbor Michigan with the now known Wolf Eyes. Their record was released by Gravity on 9-11-2001- the day of the twin tower's attack in NYC. Bill & Jessica currently own & run Key Club Recording studios and record all sorts of bands awesomly. Mario went on to play with Rocket From The Crypt & Hot Snakes & now plays in a more similar in style band called Earthless. Check them out now.....
