The Doomsday Prophecy
The Doomsday Prophecy are perhaps the most up and coming band in the NJ area that I’ve ever mentioned. They have hardcore fanbase that seems to be only growing, decent recordings, and have constant shows, which win new fans a lot. The band features members of Mister Monster, a horror-punk band, Norman Bates, a tech-death-hardcore band, and Gotham Road, which featured Michale Graves [Misfits] on vocals. This all-star group is something that takes the best of all it’s musicians and creates a unique frenzy. I didn’t know what to expect from this band live, but the energy they unleash on stage is something that many bands need to recognize. It’s more than just head banging, it’s about moving. The guitars are an interesting mix of thrash, death and black metal with the occasional well-placed breakdown. The drummer, Jake Blochinger, shows off his blast beats and double bass, but isn’t afraid to scale back enough with a simpler steady beat. This creates more anticipation in the music. Vocals are screams and growls straight out of a melodic death metal band. Check out their music on their ReverbNation page.
