  • MUDDY TITAN

This past weekend our entire family ran or was apart of what is known as the "Muddy Titan." The was the very first year our hometown put on the event and they had an awesome turn out of over 250 individuals enter. The Muddy Titan is a 5k Mud Run that challenges the body and the mind to its maximal ability. Every half mile there was a new obstacle to overcome-from running up and down mounds of dirt follwed by pits filled with water, to climbing over tiers of hay bales, to crawling in mudd under barbed wire, to running up an inclined wall, to carrying 2 HEAVY tires for a good distance, etc. etc. Our entire family participate in the event in one way of another. Jasmyn happened to slice her leg open the day before the race and ended up in the ER to get stitches so she was unable to run it but came along for support and was so kind to get pictures of us at the finish line. Even our parents partook in the fun. Unfortunatly, dad stepped wrong coming down obstacle 1 and tore his ACL...he was such a good sport and look what happens...we hope the swelling goes down quickly dad and healing takes place soon. The rest of the family was able to run the race and we all managed FINISHED!!! It was definatly a challenging race but was soooo much fun. I'm already looking forward to doing it agian next year. The funds from this event went to the Family Crisis Center am amazing organization in our hometown that provides services to the surrounding communitites 24/7. The following are some pictures I thought I'd share from the event!

  • Prayers

Please keep me in your prayers this coming Friday as I will be having an abdominal CT conducted to try and get to the bottom of some health issues I have been dealing with for 3-4 years. I fight stomach pain and discomfot often and have been seing a specialist to try and treat it for some time now. About a year ago I had several blood tests completed and an endoscopy and colonoscopy- there were no significant results that came back. Now, a couple months ago I had a HIDA Scan and ultrasound completed as there were no signs of improvement with my symptoms. Still today I am not feeling any better or getting much of any reliefe so the doctor has stated that he would like to go ahead with a CT scan to look further. It has been a long road dealing with this and with the many tests and scans, but I am thankful for my amazing husband and family that have been with me every step of the way. I know ALL things are in HIS hands and HE knows what I am dealing with and only HE can ultimately heal me.

Thank you in advance for your prayers I truly appreciate it!

  • Gem's Camp 2012

Later this week/weekend we look forward to once again joining the GEM's Girls Club (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) at Camp Foster in Okoboji, IA to share our ministry of music. Thursday we will be sharing several songs with the girls that have wrote as a group as well as having them join us in singing several praise and worship songs and getting them excited for the weekend ahead. This group of girls has been so much fun to interact with over the past few years and we look forward to what this year will hold in store as well. These are grade school, junior high and going into high school aged girls. They get away for the weekend to interact with other Christian women. They dig into the word, share prayer, take part in many different recreational activities and just enjoy fellowshipping with one another. We ask that you keep these young women in your prayers. We pray that their eyes will be opened to the love of our Heavenly Father and that each and every one of them will know that they are special and important to Him. We pray that they will grow in their wisdom and knowledge of His word and desire to gain a stronger personal relationship with Him daily. I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and have a great week ahead!

  • Nephew's Birthday!

I had good intentions of blogging yesterday, as Tuesday's are my day to blog for the group...but I got a very sweet invitation from my newphew Kedren asking if I would come up to see him that night to go out to Chuckee Cheese for his 3rd birthday. How can you say no to that. I had plans of painting my bathroom that night, completing some assignments for school, possibly completing an Exam, and various other things on my "to-do" list, but I quickly dropped all of that as FAMILY comse first in my life. I just want to wish our nephew Kedren a very Happy 3rd Birthday as of yesterday! Kedren you bring so much joy and laughter to this family and your smile can just light up any room. I still remember three years ago from yesterday receiving a call for your mommy announcing your arrival when Charlie and I were in Mexico on our honeymoon. I was so happy and excited to meet you...it was a good thing that was the morning we were flying out to head home because I don't know if I could have waited too many days to meet you. I'm so glad you helped your mommy out too and waited a few days so that she could stand up at our wedding for us. She had the cutest baby bump ever. Anyways...we love you Kedren and hope you had a great day celebrating!
