With a style that changes from song to song, the duo can only be described as unique. Rattling the local scene with new, original music that can draw no comparisons is the band's calling card. From upbeat acoustic anthems, to soft harmonious melodies, the two recognize no bounds when writing music. .. .. "You may hate the first song you hear, then turn around and love the next one, it's just got a lot of variety to it," states Jared Wilson, one of the group's two members. .... Another reason for that variety is the band's versatility. .... "We change instruments, guitars, and tunings on nearly every song we write," comments Troy Thelen, the second half of the group, "We may feel like doing something softer and bust out the piano for a song or two, and then we may pick up a twelve string in a different tuning." .... Wilson and Thelen split lead and backup vocals. Thelen is a master of alternate guitar tunings, with Wilson utilizing the piano or violin on a song or two. .... Twenty Something was a solo project headed up by singer/songwriter Jared Wilson. Jared's been involved with dozens of bands through the years, racking up over 7 years of live music and band experience. After having been involved with numerous punk bands, rock bands, and alternative bands, Jared has decided to go solo with an acoustic project. With a sound that can change from song to song, it now allows him total flexibility and creativity as a musician and artist. After being involved in so many projects, Twenty Something is an attempt by to write music with a positive message and great sound. .. .. Shortly after being founded, a second guitarist/vocalist was added in Troy Thelen. Troy has been involved with numerous music projects throughout his life and brings incredible song writing capabilities, great vocals, and amazing skill to the band. With new songs expected to be released within the next few months, Twenty Something moves forward with great progress and anticipation.
