It was only a matter of time before more artists jumped on the hologram bandwagon following Tupac’s resurrection at Coachella and the latest musician to get onboard is Usher.

Today Usher announced that he will not only be livestreaming his concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on June 11th but audience members will also be able to create online avatars who will be able to actually dance onstage. Seriously we’re not making that up.

In a recent interview the performance’s director Hamish Hamilton explained, “Literally, people will be able to create their own avatar and have it dance on the screen with Usher…We know that the principles work – now we have to ensure that we can create this in a way that is live and interactive. There are literally people at computer programs all around the world as we speak, trying to work out the way of doing it.”
