Next week, Ice-T’s long-awaited documentary on hip-hop, Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap, will hit theaters. Throughout the in-depth film, the rapper takes us on a journey into the heart of the art form, speaking with everyone from Dr. Dre and Eminem to Kanye West and Mos Def, to find out how rap has inspired them and changed their lives.
    .
Now, to get you in the mood for the film, we have an exclusive clip of Mos Def, a.k.a. Yasiin Bey, spitting a crazy freestyle for the camera. And if you don’t believe in the power of hip-hop and the incredible lyrical play its MCs regularly deliver, after this clip you can consider yourself converted.

It will be interesting to observe how much the artists of rap will use this genre's massive popularity for the good rather than just the fat paydays!

That was the best verse I've heard in a while from anyone. I like his singles like Mathematics, I Agianst I*, Travellin Man, but I normally don't prefer his other music, but if he rapped as creatively as he did here, not that his other stuff wasn't, on his next album that'd be crazy. I like his acting in that movie with bruce willis and the hitchhikers guide. That line "No, no, that's not it, we're gonna die." was hilarious. So all respect due.
