Los Angeles musician Nick Waterhouse has been making waves over the last year, urging attention with his soulful, bluesy numbers. Although Waterhouse has largely been contained to the hipster indie rock scene so far, we’re pretty confident that he has what it takes to break into the mainstream in 2013, which is why we think you should jump on board while it’s still possible to tell your friends you were one of his original fans.

Calgary musician Michael Bernard Fitzgerald has been performing and releasing music for a few years, but it looks like 2013 will be the time when Fitzgerald breaks into the mainstream. The singer, guitarist and songwriter will release a new album next spring, which was recorded with producers Jon Levine and Brian West in Hollywood, heralded by a three-song EP early in the year.
